Manufacturers and other business establishments utilize a wide range of electric power consuming devices - some of which may be turned on and off, at certain times. Z-LYNK has the ability to cost effectively and conveniently control these devices both in terms of taking advantage of time-of-use rates or to selectively curtail operations during power shortage periods. This allows users to minimize the effect of peak usage pricing or to ensure that they are able to comply with shedding arrangements during utility overload conditions.
The drawing illustrates some typical applications for commercial equipment control. These include load shedding for curtailment and maximum demand control applications etc. Control of lighting, heating, air conditioning compressor pumps, hot water heating etc., can be quickly and easily achieved without the additional expense of new control wiring or other additional wire or wireless circuits.
Simple installation of the LP Transmitter used in the Z-LYNK system may be connected in just a few hours enabling the whole facilities existing wiring to carry the control information. Since the Z-LYNK signal operates at the power supply frequency coverage is 100%. A powerful cyclic redundant checking (CRC) information coding scheme is used to ensure virtually error-free operation. The Z-LYNK Transmitter is simply connected to the low voltage side of an existing distribution transformer and requires no tuning or other adjustments after installation.
