The pressing need for energy conservation and reduction of CO2 emissions is driving the need for all of us to understand how our activities are affecting the environment and to what extent. Without that basic knowledge how will we be able to measure the effect of any changes we make?

To do this we need low cost easily fitted systems that can monitor energy usage, pass this data to intelligent programmes that can then control devices so as to optimise the buildings demands on resources.
Low cost radio to Ethernet technology can send real time data reliably across the existing building network to a server which can then use the existing power network to control devices and log results and trends.
